The federal government runs an electric vehicle (EV) incentive program called iZEV, standing for Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles. Available Canada-wide, this program offers incentives to individuals wanting to purchase eligible electric or low-emission vehicles.
The iZEV program can offer up to a maximum of $5,000 per qualifying vehicle, with some terms and conditions that apply. (One of these is that individual Canadians are only eligible for one incentive per calendar year!)
To qualify for the iZEV discount, purchase a brand-new, qualifying zero-emission vehicle from a participating dealership.

The bZ4X is one of the newest models to come off the Toyota production line. It qualifies as a battery electric vehicle (BEV)! This zero-emissions electric SUV delivers an exhilarating ride in available Front and All-Wheel-Drive models.
The 2024 Toyota bZ4X has three trims that qualify for the rebate: LE, XLE, and XLE Tech Package. Similarly, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X has four trims that qualify: L FWD, LE FWD, XLE AWD, and XLE AWD Tech Package.

How BEV Works
All Electric. All the Time
In place of an internal combustion engine, BEVs are powered by a large battery pack and high-output electric motors. Because it runs on electricity alone, BEVs emit no exhaust from the tailpipe. BEV batteries are recharged to some degree as you drive, largely through regenerative braking. However, BEVs must be plugged into a wall outlet or charging equipment to achieve a full charge in order to deliver the full benefits of their electric-only operation.

Charging a BEV is simple. Just plug it in. At home, at work, or at any public charging station. Charging times will vary depending on whether you are using Level 1, 2 or 3 charging.
Level 1: Standard
Charge your BEV using a standard 120-volt AC wall socket. The slowest way to charge, it can also be the most convenient and requires no special equipment.
Level 2: Faster

The design highlight of the 2024 Sequoia lineup must be the addition of the Nightshade option. The Sequoia is imposing much when it comes to rugged good looks. But adding the Nightshade trim adds a distinct aura of menace to this capable off-roader. Nightshade owners will enjoy black accents enhancing 20-inch wheels, over fenders, grille, badges and mirror caps.
The TRD Off-Road Package that’s now available on Platinum models transforms Toyota’s Sequoia into an extremely capable 4×4. The Terra paintwork, which is available on TRD PRO models, is also a welcome addition.
It’s no surprise that the 2024 Toyota Sequoia boasts generous interior space. There’s now a third row of seats as standard. Increasing second-row capacity makes room for eight people. There are trim choices in abundance, with cloth and leather. Plus, wood and chrome are available to enhance interior styling.
It’ll provide a not overly generous 339.8 litres of cargo space, while sliding the third row of seats forward will provide 1,387.5 litres of room.
The 2024 Sequoia provides a 3.5-litre V6 iForce MAX hybrid powertrain. It’s twinned with an electric motor and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The resultant is 427 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque, which is more than adequate both on and off-road. The Sequoia delivers an impressive 12.6 L/100 km in the city and an admirable 10.5 L/100 km on the open road.
