SUPPORTING THE EDMONTON FOOD BANK ON GIVING TUESDAY

SUPPORTING THE EDMONTON FOOD BANK ON GIVING TUESDAY

May 5th is officially #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity created as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. In that spirit, we decided to lend a paw to a local organization that’s been doing incredible work right in our backyard.

Edmonton’s Food Bank typically serves over 22,000 people and that number continues to grow. Edmonton’s favourite corgis dropped off a cheque for $10,000; a small way to acknowledge the big work they’ve been doing!

We are proud Canadians and continue to be amazed by the spirit of support we witness daily from our customers and communities. What types of creative kindness have you witnessed during these crazy times?

The Edmonton Food Bank

The Edmonton Food Bank accepts monetary donations as well as non-perishable food items. They are also allowing individual volunteers or small groups (2-4 people) to help meet the increased need. The best food items to drop-off include:

  • Beans
  • Canned fish or meat
  • Baby formula
  • Peanut butter
  • Health school snacks
  • Canned fruit or vegetables
  • Soup
  • Pasta and pasta sauce

As we continue to navigate unchartered waters, every act of kindness and generosity helps us build a better future.

Giving Tuesday represents a day of unified action to ignite the power of human connection and strength within our communities.
