While the 2024 Tacoma has yet to make its debut for curious Canadians, Toyota has released teaser photos of a new trim level dubbed the Trailhunter. Based on the little information we do have, Toyota has designed this model for the committed adventurer — not just the weekend warriors.

The two images released by Toyota that tease the new trim level include a sneak peek at a headlight, some of the grille and a close-up of the bumper that is equipped with two impressively girthy red tow hooks. On the back of the Tacoma, we also see a badge that signifies this new trim level that is shaped like a compass.
The teaser images were accompanied by a short press release from Toyota that described the Trailhunter as an off-road overlander that was purposefully designed to be more robust for long-distance and long-term adventures. So for the avid offroading community in Edmonton, that could mean the difference between a few nights’ stay in the backcountry to weeks-long adventures off the beaten path.
Earlier last month Toyota also confirmed that the all-new Tacoma would feature an I-Force Max hybrid powertrain option, although exact details about the electrified new variant were not released. Either way, with a new hybrid option in the mix and the Trailhunter trim, there is a lot to be excited about when it comes to the 2024 Tacoma.
