Updates For The 2023 Highlander 
 

The 2023 Toyota Highlander no longer has the same  V6 engine it had for years. Instead, Toyota has replaced it with a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that makes 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. That's slightly less horsepower than the previous generation but a 17 percent increase in torque.

The new 2.4-litre engine feels more powerful than you might expect from a four-cylinder in a vehicle with this much space. But the power is definitely there and we are impressed. Other updates for the Highlander include a larger infotainment touchscreen. Limited and Platinum grades now come with 12.3-inch screens as standard which is also available in the Highlander XLE and XSE. Toyota has also made the wireless charging area easier to get to and the exterior mirrors on both the driver's and passenger's sides now are power folding.
